The beating heart of the engine remains the international powerboat racewinning compact 5.8 -litre in-line six-cylinder YANMAR engine block that over three decades has cemented its popularity with boat designers, builders and owners who laud its performance, fuel efficiency, reliability and smooth and quiet operation.

The 6LF engine is a compact and powerful common rail diesel engine, perfect for planing and semi-planing vessels, both recreational and light duty commercial. Controlled by the YANMAR VC20 system, it expands YANMAR brand’s line with higher horsepower, providing the largest common rail, electronically managed marine diesel line-up in the industry.

Mercury Diesel’s 3.0L engine simplifies maintenance by locating service points at the front of the engine. The oil, coolant, fuse box, seawater strainer, drive lube (sterndrive only) and power steering fluid (sterndrive only) service points are located at the front of the engine next to Mercury’s color-coded maintenance schedule to provide easy-to-understand service guidelines and easy-to-reach access.
